The whole story revolves around boy whose name is John Philip; he was a young boy his father worked in the brass section of the United States Marine band. The capital city of Washington was full of bands Philip loved them he wanted to become a magician at the age of 7^th ,he joined a school of music he like his study very much he learn to play violin. he began to play very well he love to play baseball also.in this chapter writer wants to say that one can succeed in his life only if one pursue vocation according to one's interest and taste one must not mix professional work with entertainment and play the saying was true in the case of John-Philips a young boy from Washington. he decided to become a magician he began to play on a violin he was chosen to play violin solo for the annual evening concert of his school. he was foolish to mix work and play that he went for playing baseball, his cloth got dirty, he had no clean white shirt to wear he was asked to run to the wife of his music teacher for help, Mrs- esputa brought one of her husband white shirt, Philip found the shirt was very large for him, she found a box of pins in a few minute’s .her smart fingers pinned enough tucks in the shirt to make it fit for Philip. The big shirt was pulled loose when the performance was going on. He ran away from the stage, the audience begin to laugh he was totally upset his teacher told him that he had made a complete mess of the show he scolded Philip for having wasted time in playing baseball he should have been preparing for the important work of the evening concert he should be ashamed of himself.

He was sent to bakery for three days, he did not like his work the again he went to his music teacher; he developed his skills in playing on the violin. Once a circus band leader wanted to take him, with him. he offered him a good job in a circus. He did not accept this. then he decided to become a Baker, he got fed-up with the tiring job of Baker then his father saw that he was good at playing violin he got him recruited in the Marine band of Washington he did very well as he worked hard he wrote more than hundred marches he was known as March king, the writer point out that one should work regularly for excellence in a profession John Philip souse a became a leader of marine band is started composing marches and became the March king
